About

Wakefield Live debuted in September 2022 (official film here). It is an accessible, multi arts festival in the centre of Wakefield. It runs from the morning late into the evening and all aspects of it are free to attend, with a focus on family friendly activity.

Wakefield is a great place, with so much going on. But sometimes those things can feel a little hidden. We want to fill the streets and amazing spaces of the city with excited people, and put amazing local and regional talent in front of them. It’s all about live performance, bringing people together and celebrating Wakefield.

And anywhere can be a venue; from music venues and theatres, to cafes, pubs, shops and the streets themselves. And pretty much anything can be a performance. Live Music, Comedy, Theatre – anything goes!

We want the festival to be created by the community, for the community. Wakefield Live will co-ordinate the whole thing, but we are looking for venues, artists and promoters who may want to get involved.
